Second Annual Distinguished Career Award:
Dr. John Downes

Dr. John Downes was the choice for the second annual Distinguished Career Award given by the Section. The award will be presented on Monday, October 28 between 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Dr. Downes will give a 20 minute presentation on the history of pediatric critical care medicine.

Workforce Survey Results

The July 1996 issue of Critical Care News included an anonymous survey to determine opinions regarding present and future intensivist workforce issues. Peds CCM--The Web Page (http://PedsCCM.wustl.edu) included this survey as well. Five hundred twenty-two surveys were mailed. We received 48 survey responses on paper and 11 as web page forms. 35 respondents were PICU directors. 25 were division chiefs. 56 respondents did pediatrics as their first residency. 14 practiced another specialty in addition to pediatric critical care. 54 were AAP CCM Section members. Survey results are:
