Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in Madera, California is recruiting for a pediatric critical care specialist to join our growing team. Candidates must be board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, licensed/licensable to practice in California, and must have superior clinical and interpersonal skills.

 

Position Overview

This position will have clinical responsibilities at two of our Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) in California’s Central Valley.

Our PICU at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, CA is a 42-bed unit with over 1500 admissions per year. Our intensivists provide 24/7 in-house coverage and care for a diverse patient population. We work in multi-disciplinary teams and have the support of over 20 pediatric subspecialties. We have an active cardiovascular surgery program with over 200 cases per year. We also have an active ECMO program and are a Platinum Level ELSO Center of Excellence. We are a Level II pediatric trauma center and collaborate with our pediatric surgical team in caring for our trauma patients. In addition, each intensivist on our team contributes to the unit and the hospital through quality work, committee participation, and/or program development.

Our PICU at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, CA is an 8-bed, CCS-certified community unit. It is the only PICU within a 125 mile radius and is a vital resource to the Bakersfield area. Routine ventilator management, inotropic support, and invasive monitoring are provided. Valley Children’s Hospital serves as its tertiary referral center and the resource for subspecialty consultations not available in Bakersfield.

Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group offers competitive compensation. The expected pay range for this position is $352,210-442,470 and will be based on multiple factors including the chosen candidate's qualifications and experience.
