Job Description: The Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital. The rank of this faculty position is at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor on the Academic or Master Clinician Track, depending on qualifications.
Essential Qualifications:
Must be a licensed MD/DO and ideally have board certification in both Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology. Those with Critical Care Medicine certification who have completed at least one year of cardiac intensive care training or with a clear track record in providing care in a CVICU will be strongly considered.
Job Responsibilities:
This full-time position would require clinical time primarily in the CVICU and could also include coverage of the PICU, intermediate care unit, cardiology service, or cardiology clinic depending on the applicant's qualifications and interests. Educational responsibilities include supervision, instruction, and mentoring of pediatric critical care fellows, pediatric cardiology fellows, pediatric residents and medical students, as well as a dedicated team of CVICU advanced practice providers.
About the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital:
M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital is a state-of-the-art children's hospital that opened in April 2011. The Children's Hospital has a total of 12 dedicated CVICU beds,12 PICU beds and 6 intermediate care beds with approximately 1,000 admissions annually. The CVICU supports a growing Heart Center that includes two congenital heart surgeons, a cardiac transplant program, and an ECMO program with a full range of VAD capabilities. Our Heart Center supports many academic physicians with clinical and basic science research initiatives.
