East Tennessee State University (ETSU), Department of Pediatrics, Medical Education Assistance Corporation (MEAC), in conjunction with Niswonger Children?s Hospital, teaming with Ballad Health, is seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Physician (Clinical Track Assistant/Associate Professor) who has completed a pediatric critical care fellowship and is BC/BE in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at time of hire. The critical care physician will have roles in patient care, teaching, and research.
The position is contingent upon external funding.
Responsibilities of the pediatric critical care physician include:
• Providing clinical care for the 10-bed
• Actively participating in the pediatric ground and air transports for the region as we move toward a comprehensive designated center, and expanding the service for pediatric sedation outside the operating room.
• As this Tennessee facility is designated as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center with Special Pediatric Expertise, the pediatric intensivist will be an active participant with the pediatric trauma team.
Educational Responsibilities include:
• Teach first and second-year medical students in the basic science
• Work with the third-year students during the general pediatric clerkship/PICU sub-specialty rotation.
• Instruct the 4th-year students taking the pediatric ICU Selective/Elective.
• Supervise the pediatric residents on the three required PICU
