Davee Pediatric Neurocritical Care Fellowship

The Ruth D. and Ken M. Davee Pediatric Neurocritical Care Program at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, in the Department of Neurology and Department of Pediatrics welcomes applicants to apply to the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Fellowship at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University with an anticipated start date of July 2024.

During this one year clinical training program, the fellows will develop expertise in the recognition, evaluation, and acute and chronic management of acute neurologic insults including, but not limited to, stroke, status epilepticus, autoimmune and demyelinating disorders, CNS infections, metabolic disorders, traumatic brain injury, neuromuscular disorders, and neurologic complications of critical illness. Fellows will develop expertise in the use and interpretation of neurophysiologic data, such as prolonged video EEG, near-infrared spectroscopy and transcranial doppler sonography, in addition to neuroimaging studies.

The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is a free-standing children's hospital that serves the city of Chicago and beyond. It houses the 50 and expanding to 60-bed Lefkofsky Family Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the 44-bed Regenstein Cardiac Care unit, and the 64-bed level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. There are active cardiac surgery, transplant, and ECMO programs. Lurie Children's is a national leader for pediatric subspecialty care and is consistently listed in the US News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals rankings.

Applicants for the MD fellowship should be board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care or Child Neurology.
