Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the southeast United States, where UHealth - University of Miami Health System physicians treat children from throughout Florida and the Caribbean. Holtz Children's is known worldwide for its care of critically ill newborns in its neonatal intensive care unit, which is one of the largest in the United States and boasts some of the best medical outcomes. In collaboration with the Miami Transplant Institute, Holtz Children's is one of only three centers in the country that specializes in pediatric multi-organ transplants. Position Summary: APRN – Inpatient Pediatric CVICU
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our inpatient Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide advanced, evidence-based care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents with complex medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions.
The APRN will manage the care of critically ill pediatric patients in the PCICU, including those with congenital structural and/or electrical conduction abnormalities, and those recovering from complex open-heart surgery, ranging from neonates to young adults. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, diagnostic interpretation, invasive procedures within scope, medication management, and family education, in collaboration with pediatric and cardiac intensivists.
Required Qualifications
- Board-Certified Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) with ICU experience OR
- Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC) with 3–5 years of PCICU experience, and a commitment to obtain Pediatric Acute Care certification within 3 years of hire
