Job Description: Oregon Health & Sciences University, Doernbecher Children's Hospital. We are seeking a Pediatric Intensivist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to join our Pediatric Critical Care team.
Position Highlights:
Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital is offering an opportunity for a full-time Intensive Care physician at one of the nation's consistently ranked Top 50 children's hospitals. As Oregon's only academic health center, we strive to offer the best medical care to every child across Oregon, Southwest Washington and beyond. The PICU cares for 1400 patients annually and has especially robust cardiac, neurosurgical, ECMO, and oncologic programs as well as a thriving PICU follow up program.
The Intensive Care Faculty member will focus on facilitating and supporting the provision of standardized, streamlined, high-quality critical care. The successful candidate will actively participate in initiatives empowering physician and nursing care through education and sub specialization. The Intensivist will collaborate with our Medical Director, the CVICU Medical Director, advance practice providers, intensivists, consultants, and nursing staff to provide exceptional pediatric critical care.
Primary objectives of emphasis include:
• Maintaining and improving Quality and Operations of Pediatric Intensive Care
• Ensuring consistent delivery of excellent care for all patients
• Enhancing patient and family satisfaction
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members on continuous process improvement
Qualifications:
• Active clinical practice and maintenance of skills through continuing medical education
• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
• Ability to motivate, teach, and facilitate individuals and groups
• Readiness to collaborate in an inter-professional environment
• Positive professional relations with peers
• Ability to deal objectively and fairly with controversial issues with a professional, diplomatic, tactful communication style
• Proficiency to work both independently and in a team environment
• Ability to respectfully supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and students in pediatrics
• Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care. Individuals with additional training are encouraged to apply.
