The Division of Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time Advanced Practitioner position (NP or PA) at Christus Children's. This position comes with a faculty appointment within the department of pediatrics, a competitive salary, and a full benefits package. Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.
The Division of Critical Care currently consists of 8 full-time ICU physicians and 6.6 advanced practice providers. We are staffing up to a total of 8 full-time PICU advanced practice providers. We care for critically ill children in the 26-bed multidisciplinary PICU (includes 11 beds Cardiac ICU). The division also staffs the 14-bed intermediate care unit (IMC).
Christus Children's serves as the only freestanding, tertiary subspecialty regional referral and pediatric care center for the San Antonio and South Texas regions. Christus Children's offers 200+ pediatric beds, including a main campus ER, Level III Pediatric Trauma Center, 2 freestanding ERs (totaling 100,000 visits/year), and a 60-bed Level IV Neonatal ICU.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in Pediatric intensive care unit or similar setting preferred
- Experience in cardiac intensive care unit preferred, not required
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Acute care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
