The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at CHOP seeks a visionary and collaborative educator to serve as Associate Chair of Education. This key leadership position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the department's educational programs across the continuum of medical education, including undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education. The Associate Chair will lead the Education Council and Grand Rounds series, advise the Department Chair on educational strategies, manage the departmental education budget, and promote faculty development and mentorship.
This individual will work closely with Associate Division Chiefs for Education, the Administrative Director for Education, and institutional leaders at CHOP and Penn to ensure educational excellence and innovation. Additional responsibilities include mentoring emerging faculty educators, updating departmental education policies, and representing the department in local and national education initiatives. The role is ideal for a seasoned educator with demonstrated strategic thinking skills, a commitment to academic excellence, and a passion for cultivating a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Applicants must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be at the rank of Associate Professor or higher. A minimum of 60% clinical effort is required. Additional requirements include demonstrated teaching excellence, at least three years of educational leadership experience, and no professionalism or practice concerns.
