Job Summary: You will serve as an attending physician and provide care for critically ill

children on the Critical Care service at Children's Hospital Colorado. In

addition to the expected clinical shifts in the pediatric intensive care unit,

candidates will be expected to pursue appropriate scholarship efforts in

their area of expertise and interest. This will include the mentoring of

residents and fellows, supervision of advanced practice providers,

ownership of hospital quality improvement projects, appropriate scholarship

and participation in hospital or department committees. In addition, you will

be expected to contribute to departmental and institutional missions to

support diversity, equity and inclusion..

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will serve as an attending physician and provide care for critically ill children on the Critical Care service at Children's Hospital Colorado.

Work Location: Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. 

Assistant Professor

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Board certified / Board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine

Associate Professor

  • 7 or more years' experience as pediatric intensivist
  • Examples of Scholarship
  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Board certified / Board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine

Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience in an academic medical center
  • Experience in developing and implementing clinical education programs
  • Evidence of academic productivity
  • Experience supporting diversity, equity and inclusion within academic medicine
  • Experience utilizing quality and process improvement methodologies and leading quality improvement teams/projects 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure;
  • Skill in prioritizing patient and system needs appropriately;
  • Knowledge and skill in customer service delivery;
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team;
  • Well organized and efficient in their work;
  • Knowledge of quality improvement, family centered care, and evidence-based practice.

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $200,000- $235,000

Associate Professor: $250,000- $277,500

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
