Job Description:

Assistant Professor level or higher, target start date December 2024/ January 2025.

Our critical care services team is expanding, and we are actively seeking faculty to help us continue providing advanced critical care medicine. As a member of the Children’s team, you’ll be working at one of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the country, with 673 licensed beds, more than 1 million patient visits, and Georgia's first and only Level I pediatric trauma center. Our nationally recognized critical care services include:

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: Our PICU at Egleston Hospital currently has 40 beds, with plans to expand to 60 beds at our new Arthur M. Blank Hospital (move date Sept 29, 2024). Our system as a whole, with a very active Level 1 Trauma program, cares for approximately 7,000 critically ill and injured children each year, representing one of the busiest PICU networks in the country.
ECMO Center: The ECMO Center at Children’s is a national and international leader in pediatric ECMO, caring for more than 1,500 patients since 1991. We’ve been recognized as an ECMO Center of Excellence since 2007 and designated as a Platinum Center of Excellence by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO)—the highest level of designation.
Technology-Dependent Intensive Care Unit: Our TICUs have some of the most advanced medical equipment available to help provide next-level care for children with lung diseases or GI disorders.

Our Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program is one of the nation’s leading fellowship programs, with 15 fellows currently being trained. The program strives to develop trainees in a complex care environment, promote innovative training approaches, and develop the next generation of pediatric critical care medicine providers.
