Job Description:

The Section of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applications for a full-time academic faculty position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with responsibilities in the PICU, the sedation service and our new intermediate service at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The position includes an appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank on the academic track that bests aligns with their scholarly interests in the UAMS School of Medicine. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABP certification or board eligibility in pediatric critical care medicine with the ability to obtain an Arkansas license are required. We have a competitive salary package commensurate with education and experience.

Teaching responsibilities include informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals working in the PICU and may include teaching in our formal didactic lecture program. Attendance and participation in presentations, small groups, simulation sessions and multidisciplinary conferences is required.  This position will require ongoing teaching and clinical excellence with a sustained record of professionalism. The expectation is that there will be a chosen area of concentration that may include, but are not limited to, advocacy, clinical research, education, quality and safety, health policy, global health, wellness, etc.
