Job Opportunity: Pediatric Intensivist (Faculty Position) at Albany Medical Center

The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time Pediatric Intensivist to join our team as the seventh faculty member in our 19-bed medical/surgical Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), which includes an active Congenital Heart Program. We are looking for a collegial and clinically skilled Intensivist with a strong commitment to advancing our academic mission. The ideal candidate will actively contribute through securing external funding and sharing knowledge at national conferences, as well as publishing in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Our PICU cares for over 1000 children annually on average, serving 25 counties in and around New York’s Capital District. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive medical direction and management for both air and ground transport teams, as well as chronic ventilator management at a nearby long-term care facility. Additionally, the role involves participation in providing sedation services for bone marrow and lumbar puncture procedures for pediatric oncology patients.

Position Highlights:

  • Provide 24-hour in-house coverage in a teaching environment with support from residents (PGY-2 and above) and advanced nurse practitioners.
  • Participate in a dynamic academic setting, with ample opportunities for teaching and mentoring medical students and house staff.
  • Eligible for a faculty appointment at Albany Medical College, with rank based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching, research and collaboration.
