Pediatric ICU Hospitalist Position - Boston Children's Hospital
The Division of Medical Critical Care within the Department of Pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School is recruiting a pediatric hospitalist with board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics or Med/ Peds.
The Medical ICU at Boston Children's is a 22-bed unit in a leading freestanding children’s hospital. We admit patients with a mix of acute medical critical illness (respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, ingestions, metabolic disorders, pulmonary hypertension, renal failure, GI bleeding, etc) and acute on chronic critical illness (technology dependent, admitted during decompensations).
The MICU Hospitalist will be responsible for:
- Providing care to infants, children, adolescents and families for management of acute and chronic illnesses requiring intensive nursing and medical supports.
- Collaborating with the supervising ICU attending physician to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and diagnose critical illnesses
- Participating in the MICU rounds, including the presentation of clinical information, the progress and management of patients, and assisting in establishing and implementing treatment plans.
- There are opportunities for participating in local quality improvement projects, clinical research, and education of rotating residents.
- Coverage required includes daytime, nighttime and weekend shifts.
- A minimum one-year commitment is required
