Job Description:

The PICU at Randall Children's Hospital in Portland, OR is currently recruiting an additional intensivist to join our close-knit team of 9 physicians and 2 APPs. This is a unique opportunity to provide high acuity care in our busy 24 bed non-academic tertiary PICU. Responsibilities would include clinical duties and at home call coverage as well as administrative and quality work. Our clinical services include ECLS, CRRT, advanced ventilator modalities including VDR ventilation, a busy pediatric critical care transport service, and provision of collaborative management with numerous pediatric surgical and sub-specialty services. We are a combined unit that provides post operative care to approximately 110 post op cardiac cases per year in close collaboration with our cardiology colleagues.

Our ideal candidate would have strong cardiac ICU training and experience but enjoys caring for the general PICU population.

Randall Children's Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 9-story freestanding Children's Hospital affiliated with Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Our facility offers a large Children's Emergency Department, a level IV NICU, the region's only inpatient rehabilitation facility as well as a 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with large private rooms that promote our ideal of family-centered care. The hospital has over 100 pediatric sub-specialty professionals in both medical and surgical areas, and has been verified as both a Level I Pediatric Trauma and Level I Pediatric Surgical center. Legacy Health System consists of seven hospitals, dozens of primary care and specialty clinics, a regional medical laboratory service, a research facility, and The Oregon Burn Center.

Our PICU participates in national quality databases, multiple quality projects and multi-institute research studies, and Randall Children's Hospital Foundation funding is available to support quality and patient-centered projects. The PICU is a current recipient of the Gold Beacon Award by the AACN for excellence in multi-disciplinary, collaborative, family-centered pediatric critical care. We also hold the ELSO award for Excellence in Life Support-Gold Level and are the recipient of the 2023 SCCM ICU Heroes Award.
