Children’s Nebraska, with the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting a BE/BC pediatric cardiac intensivist. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our 32 bed variable acuity Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) at Children’s Nebraska. The candidate will join the division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, that comprises of 10 cardiac intensivists, and 13 general intensivists. Besides the cardiac intensivists, the current CCU faculty consists of 3 cardiac surgeons and 23 cardiologists. Candidates must have a strong clinical background including post-operative cardiac care; an interest in VAD management is ideal. Position is open to persons with either a background in cardiology or critical care along with a 4th year fellowship in CICU. All faculty will be responsible for teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Ample opportunities exist for building an academic career focused on teaching, research, or administration.
The Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Heart Center at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center provides care for patients of all ages, including fetuses, newborns, toddlers, preteens, adolescents, and adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD). Our multidisciplinary team treats the full range of pediatric and adult congenital heart conditions. The Heart Center is a certified Aetna Institute of Excellence for pediatric congenital heart surgery.
