Candidates with prior quality improvement and implementation science experience are encouraged to apply. This experience might be highlighted by an ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and utilization of data analytics to improve care delivery. Our critical care services team is expanding, and we are actively seeking faculty to help us continue providing advanced critical care medicine. Our nationally recognized critical care services include:
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: Our PICU at Egleston Hospital currently has 36 beds, with plans to expand to 60 beds at our new Arthur M. Blank Hospital. We care for approximately 2,500 critically ill and injured children each year, representing one of the busiest PICUs in the country.
• ECMO Program: The ECMO Program at Children's is a national and international leader in pediatric ECMO, caring for more than 1,500 patients since 1991. We've been recognized as an ECMO Center of Excellence since 2007 and designated as a Platinum Center of Excellence by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO)—the highest level of designation.
• Technology-Dependent Intensive Care Unit: Our TICUs have some of the most advanced medical equipment available to help provide next-level care for children with lung diseases or GI disorders.
Our Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program strives to develop trainees in a complex care environment, promote innovative training approaches, and develop the next generation of pediatric critical care medicine providers. The program has 15 fellows currently being trained.
Why Children's?
A trusted leader in pediatric healthcare for more than 100 years, Children's is continually recognized as one of the nation's leading pediatric care providers by U.S. News & World Report, with many of our specialty programs ranking among the best in the nation. We are also one of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the country, with 673 licensed beds and more than 1.1 million patient visits annually. Through our academic partnership with Emory University—ranked No. 1 nationally in NIH funding for pediatric departments—we actively participate in clinical studies aimed to advance pediatric medicine and transform the way we care for kids and teens.
You can be part of our greatest endeavor yet to transform the future of pediatric medicine. The demand for specialized pediatric care has never been greater in our community. As part of our dedication to advanced care, clinical research, education and training, we are expanding our North Druid Hills campus. The centerpiece of this 70-acre campus will be Arthur M. Blank Hospital, a 19-story, 2-million-square-foot facility opening September 2024. Thoughtfully designed from the ground up with input from all stakeholders, including clinicians and patients, this is more than just a building. It is a giant leap forward in our ongoing effort to deliver cutting-edge care, improve outcomes and innovate to meet the healthcare challenges of tomorrow.

• This is a diverse city, which means your patients will come from a variety of cultural, religious, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• As the only freestanding pediatric health system in Georgia, Children's patient volumes are high, and our referral base is large.
• Atlanta has a lower cost of living than many other major cities, and it is consistently ranked among the top places to move to in the country.
• The Atlanta community is known for its walkable neighborhoods, thriving arts and culture scene, pro sports teams, as well as its many green spaces and sunny weather.
