The Congenital Heart Center at the University of Florida and the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) at the Shands Children's Hospital is seeking a full time Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physician to join our team. With over 400 admissions annually, our 23-bed dedicated CICU provides comprehensive cardiac critical care for all patients with congenital heart disease from birth to adulthood. Our services include the full breadth of congenital heart surgeries and interventional procedures along with a robust heart failure, ventricular assist device, and transplant program. Our excellent neonatal outcomes are complimented by our ability to care for children with CHD and heart failure both with and without a Ventricular Assist Device.

The ideal candidate will be board-certified in pediatric critical care medicine, pediatric cardiology, Neonatal Medicine, or pediatric anesthesiology with additional training in Pediatric cardiac critical care. All folks with double boards are welcome.

The critical care division includes a multi-disciplinary team including seven critical care physicians, ten nurse practitioners and physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, respiratory therapists, speech with occupational therapists, and physical therapists. All medical and surgical subspecialties are available to the team including an advanced vascular team. In addition, we have a senior pediatric cardiac ICU fellow each year. Our heart center provides comprehensive care include cardiac catheterization, ACHD, Electrophysiology and cardiac imaging. In addition, our center serves as the regional leader for Extra Corporeal Life Support services with focus on myocardial recovery.
