SCCMPIWG Minutes

2/12/2000

Orlando

Attendance:

Barry Markovitz, Susan Day, Tim Hartzog, Tim Timmons, Harold Amer, Paula Chorazy and Jim Fackler

Minutes:

Introductions
The committee welcomed Tim Timmons and Tim Hartzog to the meeting and the group. Once again, turnout was low due to simultaneous meetings of other committees.
PICU List

In Carl's absence, little discussion of the PICU List was held. It was noted that the list might be moving off the MCW server within the next year.

PedsCCM

Barry distributed analysis logs for the website for 1999. A summary of the increased volume of activity is available here. A document, prepared for sponsoring organizations, highlighting the developments on the site over the past year was distributed. This document also includes the PedsCCM budget and accounting of funds for 1999. This report is available upon request from Barry.

The possible future of PedsCCM was discussed briefly, as consideration may be given to moving the server to an independent site. In addition, new individuals interested in becoming more involved with the editing and technical aspects of the site are to be encouraged.

VPICU

Barry commented on the state of the Virtual PICU database project; the software is in beta testing and is expected to be fully functional and available for distribution by June or July of this year. It was noted that representatives of the VPICU met with SCCM representatives and Project Impact (PI) team members. There is no intention at this time to develop an independent pediatric version of PI. The plan is to keep the dialogue open for future development, collaboration, and more direct involvement of SCCM in these efforts.

New Business

The future of SCCMPIWG: A discussion was held regarding the need for routine meetings of this group. We will evaluate the need to meet at next year's SCCM meeting in due time.

Respectfully submitted,
Barry Markovitz
