- Mailing List update
- Fellowship Directors and any parties that are interested: Every year at this time, I try to update my mailing list.
- If you are a fellowship director, please send to me privately (brilr0@chmcc.org) your name, e-mail address, phone, fax.
- If I have this information, I will try to use your personal e-mail to communicate on matters of importance. Program Directors change regularly and I need a yearly update.
PedsCCM ed. addendum March 9, 1998:
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Directors now have a separate email list. Contact Ken Tegtmeyer (tegtmeye@ohsu.edu) or Carl Weigle (cweigle@post.its.mcw.edu) if you are a director and have not yet been notified or to change your address. An archive of messages to this list is available (password protected) at http://www.mcw.edu/peds/cc/secure/pccmfdPedsCCM ed. addendum September 14, 1998
A listing of Fellowship Directors' names, institutions, and contact information is now available here. Please contact Ken (tegtmeye@ohsu.edu) or Carl (cweigle@post.its.mcw.edu) with questions about, or updates for this list.- Minutes of the Fellowship director's Meeting in San Antonio Feb 7, 1998 As usual we had a lively meeting.
- Update on the revisions of the ACGME guidelines (Brilli) The revision of the accreditation requirements for PICU fellowships is still under review by the RRC. All fellowship director's should have one more look at the document before it is finalized. The RRC should take care of such a mailing.
- Fellowship Database and Website Journal Club ( Barry Markovitz) Barry presented work regarding training programs sending reviews of journal articles using the evidence based format and placing such reviews on the website. This can be used as a teaching tool for fellows. In addition, a request for names and addresses of all fellowships will be placed on the website and Barry will work to link this central site with individual webpages at the home hospital for each fellowship.
- Discussion was held about developing a guideline for a research curriculum for PICU training programs. Dr. Randall Wetzel agreed to Chair such an effort. If you wish to work with Dr. Wetzel on this project please contact him at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (213) 669-2557.
- Fellowship Match program A vigorous discussion regarding the development of a PICU match program similiar to that which the Peds Emergency specialists have was discussed. If that was not possible, could a match date be agreed upon, wherein no programs would offer fellows positions until after such a date. A subcommittee was established to look at this idea and try to have some draft ideas by the Colloquium in September. Should Hospitalist training be part of critical care fellowship training? This topic was tabled for future meetings.
Should you have further comments, please contact me. I hope to have another meeting in September at the Colloquium, in Chicago so that the fellowship directors can meet twice per year.
