Title Routine Chest Radiographs in Pediatric Intensive Care Units: A Multi-Institutional Study

Introduction To determine whether routine mominc, chest radiographs (CXRS) in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) patients (pis) result in interventions. Prospective mulb-institutional study. PICUs of 15 tertiary care hospitals. Pis who received a routine mominc, CXR were eligible for inclusion in the study. Routine was defined as any CXR ordered prior to midr oht the night before them radiograph was obtained.
Method Pt data recorded included: wel-ht, Diagnosis, presence of active cardiopulmonary (CP)l problems, len-th of stay (LOS) at the time the CXR was )btained, and number and type of devices. In addition, th number and types of interventions based on th interpretation of the CXR and any adverse events thau occurred duriri- radiography were recorded.
